What Customers Say About ASUS Eee PC 900 8.9-Inch Netbook (Intel Mobile Processor, 1 GB RAM, 20 GB Solid State Drive, Linux, 4 Cell Battery) Pearl White:

The solid state memory is adequate and eliminates the sometimes fragile compact hard drive. This netbook is a great value for $200. It works well for keeping up with e-mail on the move and is very adequate for surfing the internet. The small size and light weight makes it especially convenient for travel. Recommended.
Country of origin should be listed in the product description. No doubt there were a significant number of impacts during its delivery here from DataVision.
However, I thought it important to note that the shipping was less than satisfactory. I haven't opened the box yet, as this is a Christmas gift for my wife.
At least 4 inches in every direction. The box it was shipped in had little packing material in it and I could feel and hear the computer inside sliding around all over the place.
There was considerable room for it to slide up and down, back and forth. We'll see when we fire it up just how reliable the solid state drive is.Also, I was not pleased with the country of manufacture as I hate buying Chinese.
Had it been listed, I probably would not have purchased this product.
I bought this for my daughter as an eighth grade graduation present. Small, light and infinitely portable, good battery life, tough SD hard drive, this is perfect for the student. She has access to a desktop with a full-sized keyboard and monitor, but she hasn't used it once since June. The Linux OS and installed software do everything she needs. (The low price helps too. you don't worry so much about loss or damage).
I bought this netbook back in June and have already had to send it in for a repair. Thankfully it was just the power cord that needed to be replaced.
A very good buy, the 900 or 901 model is imho the best in the series; unfortunately, the successor models appear to have become heavier, bulkier and moved to HD instead of SSD storage.
